Talking Point - The Great Voice

I would like to talk about the Great Voice. I have seen many posts about this subject but have not seen anyone describe how to do a "Great Voice." So, I will share a technique that I use.

When uttering the Great Voice it is completely unnecessary to say anything aloud. In fact, I find that this hinders the effort rather than helps it. Others may be more comfortable using vocal sounds.

When I use the Great Voice I manifest the vibrations of the words into the great void and FEEL their vibrations resonating throughout the void. Okay, what does that mean?

Visualize yourself in a dark universe, stars and all. Make yourself LARGE in this universe. Size does matter! Make yourself LARGER than the Galaxies and your head touching the ceiling of the Universe if you want to. When saying the words FEEL the vibrations of those words within yourself. You should feel these vibrations shaking the internal fabric of your body if possible. Every molecule of your Body should feel the Vibrations.

Believe it or not, you will know when the vibrations are correct. When they feel right release them into the void and feel the entire void vibrate with the vibrations you have created. In fact you should feel them echoing throughout the void. If your words "shake" the void then you have done it correctly.

Of course, I could just be on drugs...

Humbly, I AM

P.S. This did not start out as a Talking Topic but I received so many comments from members I decided to make it one. I hope you agree.

Oh I do like the sound of this, I always have trouble with this chanting/vibratory
business, I think I am going to practice this one extensively, get out the hard hats guys.

Sounds quite similiar to the way I do it as well. I too sometimes find it subtracting to vibrate the words outloud, but I ussually do so anyway. Good post.

I find the "Great Voice" a very powerful tool when needed, but I am such a psychdrama addict I just have to voice it aloud!

I mostly use it when in bed and doing ritual before sleeping. I find that I get a much fuller whole body effect when vibrating aloud.

What do you guys think about Crowley's comment about vibrating the God-Names in his... Liber O was it? He states, if done correctly, you should feel the name of the God rise through you, in terms of feeling and audibly as well... it should be so intense that you feel physically weakened for a second or two. I mean, I can see the parallels feeling-wise with the vibrations, but I wonder what he meant about hearing it audibly also, do you guys perhaps know about this?

I have experimented with both phyzichal voice, and without. The non-audio version works, but like Manjet i enjoy the psychodrama :) Still i have'nt experienced the a-ha thing. I will just have to work harder!

I have a few books on the 72 God names, and very faintly do I remember anything along similar lines as to what Crowley mentioned. I suppose it's a factor of your own decided sensitivity to the practice. Personally, when I take on a task I learned of elsewhere, I always set my standards and means of practice much higher than those outlined. On the topic of vibrating voice, this allows me to immediately break the shell of expectation and establish my own, true, real, believable realm and experience with the task on a personal level. Having said that, work with the God names have been some of the most profound experiences of my life.

Well, i tried visualising myself, being larger than the Galaxies and all that. But knowing the fact that im TERRIBLE at visualising, im trying a different approach.

I imagine that im the ONLY being around. No galaxies, no stars, nothing exists yet, just me. I imagine complete darkness. And i vibrate the LBRP as if its being chanted for the first time ever. So in effect, im creating the 4 angels for the first time, every time. Gives me an immense sense of power and control.

Is my method different? im not sure, but it works like hell!

Last LBRP i did was so powerful, i felt ill the whole night, coz i couldnt handle the energy it created.

Are you on drugs, I AM? I'm actually asking this question seriously.

Thanks.

A different way of accomplishing the same thing! Great post Darkfay.

As far as visualization goes, many have this difficulty. As an exercise I suggest the following. Take a look at the room you are in (any room will do). Then close your eyes and try to "see" the room as you remembered it. Try to see each item in the room, the flooring, walls, and ceilings. As you progress, try to see the textures of the items in the room.

I recommend you do this everywhere you go. This will increase memory, focus, and visualization.

As far as the energy making you ill, consider GROUNDING yourself during and AFTER the Ritual if necessary. I am certain you have your own methods of Grounding. However, PM me if you desire more information.

I hope this helps.

I have to agree with Frater Manjet, just being able to vibrate out loud shaking the world with my voice is much more powerful. Often when I do it this way I feel dizzy afterwards.

That being said most often for reasons beyond my control I must use the great voice. And as usual with my practice, my method is very unorthodox but it works very well with me. I first pull in a deep breath all the way down to my feet. (often I physically lean back while I do this) Then I push out this breath trying to vibrate my own body more than the world around me as I do when I am free. I tend to focus more on the vowel sounds than the actual words themselves. The last sounds come out in a pronounced hiss as I force out the last bit of air in my lungs trying to put as much power into it as I can.

I know this is not the classic method of the great voice but it works. I have vibrated correctly out loud and as Kraig says when you do it correctly you will know. I have experemented with different methods of the great voice and all I have to say is keep experementing until you find what clicks for you.
